1 RESOLUTION NO. 4454
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING
THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS,
3 BOOKS AND PAPERS, PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 34090
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, under
6 date of January 5, 1977, has recommended that certain records,
7 documents, instruments, books and papeX's under his charge and
8 under the charge of other department heads be destroyed, and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds that
10 none of the foregoing records affect the title to real property,
11 or liens thereon, and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds that
13 none of said records are court records nor are records required
14 to be kept by statute, and that the same are more than seven years
15 old, and that none of said records are minutes, ordinances, or
16 resolutions of the legislative body of the City of Vernon, and
17 WHEREAS, the written consent of the City Attorney and the
18 heads of each appropriate City Department to the destruction of
19 such records have been obtained,
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
22 does hereby authorize the destruction by the department head in
23 Charge of said records, without making a copy thereof.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
finds that the same are no longer required for any purposes of ,the
City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: That ther~cbrds, documents , instruments, books

SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon

8 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
9 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
10 ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 18th day of January, 1977.
