WHEREAS, proceedings have been taken as required by law, pursuant
to the boundary relocation provisions of Sections 50190 et seq. of the
Government Code, for relocation of the common boundary between the City
of Vernon and the City of Los Angeles, concerning the territory herein-
after described; and
WHEREAS, said territory is less than one acre in area; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and for the best interests
of both the City of Vernon and the City of Los Angeles that said ter-
ritory be detached from the City of Vernon and annexed to the City of
Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of
Los Angeles has approved the relocation of such common boundary and
has on January 26, 1977 reaffirmed its authorization for the two cities
to proceed therewith;
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AS FOLLOWS:
That the Council of the City of Vernon hereby consents to the
detachment from the City of Vernon of the following described terri-
tory:
"VERNON ADJUSTMENT 1-75"
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary of the City of
Los Angeles as same existed on November 26, 1975 (in Alameda Street)
and the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of Twenty-fifth
Street, 60 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 24393 filed in
Book 641, pages 1 to 4 inclusive of Maps, in the office of the Re-
corder of the County of Los Angeles; thence easterly along said pro-
longation and continuing easterly along said northerly line to the
westerly line of Santa Fe Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on said map;

Angeles as same existed on said date; thence westerly and southerly
along said last mentioned boundary to the point of beginning.
That portion of the common boundary of the City of Los Angeles
and the City of Vernon as a result of this relocation is a line de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary of the City of Los
Angeles as same existed on November 26, 1975 (in Alameda Street) and
the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of Twenty-fifth Street,
60 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 24393 filed in Book 641,
pages 1 to 4 inclusive of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the
County of Los Angeles; thence easterly along said prolongation and
continuing easterly along said northerly line to the westerly line
of Santa Fe Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on said map; thence along
said westerly line to the boundary of the City of Los Angeles as same
existed on said date.
That this consent is given solely upon condition that said terri-
tory be promptly annexed to the City of Los Angeles and shall be wholly
ineffective unless such territory is so annexed to said City.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the
Council of the City of Vernon at its meeting of February 1, 1977

Section 1. Proceedings having been

Sec. 2. When this ordinance becomes
effective, the City Clerk, pursuant to
Section 50196 of said Code shall im-
mediately prepare under seal and
transmit to each the Secretary, of State, Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles, and 10 the Council at the
City of Vernon a certified copy of the
ordinance, giving the date of its passage,
and shall immediately record in the
office of the Recorder of Los Angeles
County, California an affidavit stating
that an requirements of law pertaining to
the proceeding for such annexation have
been complied with, which affidavit e.hall

shall be a part of the City of Los Angeles .

Sec. 4. Prior to the adoption of this
ordinance, the Council of the City of i
Vernon gave approval to the detachment
of said territory from the City of Vernon
and to the annexation by the City of Los
Angeles of the territory so detached from
the City of Vernon, such approval being
manifested in an adopted resolution.
Sec. 5. The property in the territory so
annexed by this ordinance shall be taxed
to pay the bonded indebtedness and
liabilities of the City of Los Angeles,
equally with the property already within
the City of Los Angeles prior to the an -.
nexation of the territory - herein
described.
Sec. 6. When the annexation of said
territory is complete, the territory an-
nexed shall be added to and become part
of the Ninth Council District of the City of
Los Angeles.
Sec. 7. Effective upon the date when
the territory hereinabove described is a-
nnexed 10 and becomes a part of the City
of Los Angeles, the property within said
territory shall be placed in the M3-2
Zone, and Section 12.04 of the Los
Angeles Municipal Code is thereby
amended by changing the zone boun - ° .
daries shown upon a portion of . the
Zoning Map attached thereto and made a
part of Article 2, Chapter 1 of the Los
Angeles Municipal Code, so that such
portion of the Zoning Map shall be as
follows:
