A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF VERNON ESTABLISHING FEES
FOR BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, HEATING, VENTILAT-
ING, COOLING, REFRIGERATION AND FIRE PROTECTION PERMITS
ISSUED BY THE CITY OF VERNON AND FOR SPECIAL INSPECTIONS
OR FOR CERTIFICATES OF OCCUPANCY AND FOR TEMPORARY USE
OF COMMEE.C~AL.COACHES, AND FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF
TElffATIYE P~RCEL MAPS FOR DIVISION OF PROPERTY

Secti.on "I.
(a) The fee to be collected for each building,
8 electrical/ pu.ilimbing, heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration
9, and. fire'p;rptie~tion permit shall be as set forth in Table l-A, and
10 under certain conditions as set forth in Section 6 of this Resolu-
11 tion. This fee shall be collected by the City Clerk and deposited
12 into the general fund of the City of Vernon.
13 The determination of value or valuation may be made by the
14 Administrative Authority.

(b) When a plan is required to be submitted, aplan-checkin
16 fee shall be paid to the City Clerk at the ,time of submitting plans
17 and specifications for checking. Said plan-checking fee shall be
18 equal to sixty-five percent (65%) of the permit fee as set forth
19 in Table 1-A or as required under Section 5, but in no case shall
20 be less than Five Dollars ($5.00).

(c) The fees collected, as set forth above, shall include
22 fees collected. for the Strong-Motion Instrumentation Program of
23 the State of California, as set forth.in Chapter 8 of Division 2
24 of the Public Resources Code. The City Clerk of the City of
25 Vernon is hereby directed to remit the portion of the fees alloc-
26 able for the Strong-Motion Instrume~tation Program to the State of
27 California in accordance with said Chapter.

(d) In the event that any person shall have obtained a

5 AdJninistrativeAuthority,. of a request therefor, in writing, shall

6 be: entitled to a refund equal to eighty percent (80%) of the fee

8 satisfy himself as to the right of such applicant to such refund,
9 and each such refund shall be paid as provided by law for the pay-
10 ment of claims against the City of Vernon.

(e) In the event that any person shall have paid a plan
12 check fee as required under Subsection (b) provisions, and the
13 proposed work, construction or project is cancelled prior to any
14 plan Check being performed, the applicant who paid the plan check
15 fee, upon presentation to the Administrative Authority, of a
16 request therefor, in writing, shall be entitled to a refund equal
17 to one hundred percent (100%) of the fee actually paid for such
18 a plan check. The Administrative Authority shall satisfy himself
19 as to the right of such applicant to SUCh refund, and each such
20 refund shall be paid as provided by law for the payment of claims
21 against the City of Vernon.

Section 2. Whenever a special inspection is required or
23 requested to determine compliance with the provisions of the
24 Ordinances of the City of Vernon for a proposed use or occupancy
25 or for a Certificate of Occupancy, as required under Section 306
26 of the Uniform Building Code, 1976 Edition, an inspection fee
27 shall be collected by theCi ty Clerk asset forth in Table 2-A,
28 before the inspection will be made. This inspection fee is in

4 use of a, comrne.rcial coach shall be One Hundred DoLLars ($100.00).
5 Elec'tric'al.~na thumbing permit fees for said coach, when applicable,
6' shall be inadcilition thereto and in accordance with Section 1 of
7 this Resolution.
8 Section 4. Whenever a tentative parcel map is submitted or
9 required to be submitted for approval prior to the division of any
10 parcel of property, a fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) shall be paid
11 at the time of submittal. This fee shall be in addition to any
12 fees required by Section 2.5-3 of the Code of the City of Vernon.
13 Section 5. Whenever fire protection hydraulic calculations
14 are required to be submitted for review or for plan check, or as
15 a substantiation to an existing system, the fees to be paid shall
16 be as required under Section 1, Subsection (b), but in no case
17 less than $40.00. The permit fee to be paid shall be as set forth
18 in Table l-A.
19 Section 6. When a plan is required to be submitted for
20 checking for compliance with the State of California rules and
21 regulations for energy insulation standards for residential build-
22 ings or submitted for. checking for compliance with the State of
23 California rules and regulations for energy conservation standards
24 for new non...residentia1 buildings, a plan-checking fee shall be
25 paid to the City Clerk at the time of submitting plans and speci-
26 fications for checking. Said plan-checking fee shall be as
27 required under Section lySubsection (b) plus an additional
28 fifteen percent (l5%) of the permit fee.

Section 8. A fee shall not be required for the issuance
8 of a permit to perform work in a structure designed and used
9 exclusively as an emergency fallout shelter.

Section 9. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
11 directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution, and follow-
12 ingsaid certification this Resolution shall be in full for~e and
13 effect, commencing with the repeal of Resolution No. 4408, and
14 thereafter the fees applicable for the issuance of the permits ,
15 under Ordinances Nos. 874, 875, 876, 877, 878 and 859 shall be as
16 set forth in this Resolution.

Section 10. Resolution No. 4408 is hereby repealed, effec-
18 tive as of April 15,1977, the effective date of Ordinances No.
19 874, 875, 876, 877 and 87 8 .
