1 RESOLUTION NO. 4485
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF VERNON PAVING COMPANY
3 FOR VERNON AVENUE IMPROVEMENT, SANTA FE AVENUE TO
DOWNEY ROAD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 406
4 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
5 WHEREAS, Vernon Paving Company was awarded the Contract
6 for Vernon Avenue Improvement, Santa Fe Avenue to Downey Road,
7 pursuant to Contract No. 406 of the City of Vernon; and
8 WHEREAS, Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public Works,
9 has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon under date
10 of June 14, 1977 that said work has been completed and recommends
11 that the work be accepted and payment be made to the contractor
12 in accordance with the agreement.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
14 CITY OF VERNON as follows:

SECTION 1: That the work for Vernon Avenue Improvement,
16 Santa Fe Avenue to Downey Road, pursuant to Contract No. 406 is
17 hereby approved by the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the total contract amount is Eighty-Five
19 Thousand Nine-Hundred Twelve Dollars and Sixty-Three Cents
20 ($85,912.63). That final partial payment totaling Seventy-Seven
21 Thousand Three-Hundred Twenty-One and Thirty-Seven Cents
22 ($77,321.37) is due now, and the remaining ten percent (10%)
23 of the total contract amount or the sum of Eight-Thousand Five-
24 Hundred Ninety-One and Twenty-Six Cents ($8,591.26) is payable
25 thirty-five (35) days after the adoption of this Resolution, and
26 the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby directs payment of
27 said sum asset forth to Vernon Paving Company.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon

shall certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of June, 1977.

The work on Vernon Avenue Improvement under Contract
No. 406 has been completed.
The total contract amount is $85,912.63. Final partial
payment totaling $77,321.37 is due now. The remaining ten percent
$8,591.26 is payable thirty five days after acceptance.
It is recommended that the work be accepted and that
authority be granted to pay the contractor, Vernon Paving Company,
P. O. Box 489, Cerritos, California, 90701, in accordance with the
agreement.
