RESOLUTION NO. 4486
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON REPEA:t.INGRESOLUTION NO. 4482 AND APPROVING
"LGT,LINE ADJUSTMENT" REQUESTED BY AIRCO, INC.
WHEREAS, Airco, Inc., is the owner of a 30-inch wide
strip of property described in the attached Exhibit A and incor-
porated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, Dresser Industries, Inc., is the owner of the
adjoining property; and
WHEREAS, Dresser Industries, Inc., has agreed to purchase
the property described in the attached Exhibit A from Airco, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS1 said owner has applied for a "lot line adjustment'
follows:
"This division ~hall be inapplicable to:

(d) A lot line adjustment between two or more adjacent
parcels,where the land taken from one parcel is added
to an adjacent parcel, and where a greater number of
parcels than originally existed is not thereby created,
provided the lot line adjustment is approved by
resolution of the local agency."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON as follows:

SECTION 1: The Airco, Inc., application for a "lot line

is hereby approved.

DESCRIPTION
The easterly portion of the southerly 2. 5 feet measured at right angles, of
that portion of the Rancho San Antonio in the City of Vernon, in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, being a part of the property of the Industrial Centre
Corporation, as per deed recorded in Book 6744, Page 36 of Deeds, records of
Los Angeles County, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the property deeded by the Industrial Centre
Corporation to The Commercial Acetylene Supply Company, as per deed recorded
in Book 7236, Page 131 of Deeds, records of Los Angeles County, State of Cali-
fornia; thence North 89 degrees 00 minutes 53 seconds East along the southerly
boundary line of the property of The Commercial Acetylene Supply Company,
507.75 feet to a point; thence Southerly on a curve concave to the West having a
radius of 431. 68 feet and whose radial line through said point bears North 76 degrees
44 minutes 57 seconds East and having a central angle of 5 degrees 37 minutes 38
seconds a distance of 42. 4 feet to a point, at which a radial line of said curve bears
North 82 degrees 22 minutes 35 seconds East; thence South 7 degrees 15 minutes
16 seconds East 39.38 feet to a point in the Westerly line of the 17 -foot right of
way deeded to The Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company as per deed
recorded in Book 6768, Page 108 of Deeds, records of Los Angeles County; thence
South 1 degree 03 minutes 30 seconds East along the Westerly line of the right of way
of The Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company, 87.21 feet to a point; thence
South 89 degrees 00 minutes 53 seconds West 518.31 feet to a point; thence North
1 degree 15 minutes 25 seconds West 168.16 feet to the point of beginning.

Gentlemen:
Enclosed are letters dated May 19, 1977 and
May 27, 1977 concering a requested "lot line adjustment"
between Dresser Industries, Inc. and Airco, Inc.
Pursuant to Section 66412 (d) of the Subdivision
Map Act said lot line adjustment may be accompolished by
adoption of a resolution of the City approving said adjust-
ment.
It is recommended that the Resolution approving the
"lot line adjustmentll be approved.

Dear Mr. Sumner:
Pursuant to your previous telephone conferences
with Thomas Larmore of this office, enclosed is a copy of a
preliminary title report issued by Title Insurance and Trust
Company, together with a plot plan prepared by such company.
As we have advised you, these relate to the proposed acquisi-
tion by our client, Dresser Industries, Inc. of a 30-inch wide
strip of property along the northerly boundary of property
which it owns in the City of Vernon on the east side of
Bickett Street. The adjoining landowner is Airco, Inc.
You have previously advised that this can be accom-
pliShed without the preparation of a parcel map pursuant to
Section 66412(d)of the Subdivis~on Map Act. Under this sec-
tion, a "lot line adjustment" can be accomplished through a
resolution of the local agency without the preparation of a
parcel map.
You have advised that the next meeting of the Vernon
City Council will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 1977. Accordingly,
we would appreciate your reviewing the enclosures in order that
you may submit a recommendation to the City Attorney in time to
be presented at such meeting.
Please call Tom Larmore or me should you have any
questions regarding the enclosures. Thank you very much.

Dear Walt:
As we discussed yesterday, it appears that a portion
of the 30" strip which Dresser Industries desires to acquire
is within the City of Huntington Park. Enclosed for your use
is a copy of the plot plan showing the strip to be acquired
in green and, approximately, the city boundary lines between
Huntington Park and Vernon. Also enclosed is a copy of the
assessor's map for this area showing the boundary lines.
From the assessor's map it would appear that 193.76
feet of the strip is in the City of Vernon with the remainder
in the City of Huntington Park.
Hopefully we can use the assessor's map together
with the plot plan without the necessity of a survey.
Please give me a call with your thoughts after you
have reviewed these materials. Thank you for your attention.

Dear Mr. Nelson:
Airco, Inc., a New York corporation ("Airco"), is currently
the owner of property in the City of Vernon and in the City
of Huntington Park adjacent to that owned by Dresser Indus-
tries. (Airco acquired title to such property under the
name "Air Reduction Pacific Company.") Airco has agreed
to sell to Dresser a strip of this property immediately
adjacent to the northerly boundary of Dresser's property;
the strip is approximately 30 inches wide by 518 feet long.
In connection with this proposed sale, Airco requests that
the City Council of the City of Vernon approve a lot line
adjustment to add this strip of property to Dresser's
property.
