Resolution No. 4508 ." . ...- . $-"'- ." .: -r' '-t" 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 RESOLUTION NO. 4508 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 7th DAY OF MARCH, 1978, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF. THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General Law Cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on the 7th day of March, 1978, for the election of 3 members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON as follows: SECTION 1: Tha~ pursuant to the requirements of the 15 laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities 16 within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called 17 and ordered, held in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, 18 State of California, on Tuesday, the 7th day of March, 1978, a 19 regular general municipal election of the qualified electors of 20 said City for the purpose of electing three members of the City 21 Council of said City; 22 SECTION 2: That the ballots to be used at said e1ec- 23 tion shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, 24 such as may be required by law to be used thereat; 25 SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby 26 authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any 27 and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all sup- 28 plies ,equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order r ...... . r ,..,," of' 1 to properly and lawfully conduct said election. 2 SECTION 4: Pursuant to Section 22032 of the California 3 Elections Code, the election will be conducted entirely by absent 4 voter ballots. The City Hall is hereby designated as the polling 5 place pursuant to Section 1014 of the Elections Code. 6 SECTION 5: That the compensation of the persons named 7 as election officers is hereby waived. 8 SECTION 6: That the polling place for said election 9 shall be open at eight o'clock a.m. of the day of said election 10 and shall remain open continuously from said time until four 11 o'clock p.m. of the same day when said poll shall be closed, 12 except as provided in Section 14301 of the Elections Code of 13 the State of California. 14 SECTION 7: That in all particulars not recited in this 15 Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provid- 16 ed by law for holding municipal elections in said City. 17 SECTION 8: That notice of the time and place of holding 18 said elect ion is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby author 19 ized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional 20 notice of said election, in time, form and manner as required by 21 law. 22 SECTION 9: That the City Clerk shall certify to the 23 passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same 24 in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make 25 a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the record of 26 the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes 27 of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. 28 IIIIIIIIII -2- ..~ ,~ . ,,"'.'..'.' .: .c:, -," 1 SECTION 10: That this Resolution shall take effect 2 immediately. 3 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of November, 4 1977 . 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 ~. Please make appropriate amendment to our Fact Sheet mailed to you November 16, 1977, to reflect the change of hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in con- formance with Elections Code Section 22903.
