RESOLUTION NO. 4512
A RESOLUTION OF THE; CITY COUNClt OF . THE CITY
OF VERNON EXONERATING BOND NO. 126107 FROM
THE PACIFIC INDEMNITY COMPANY AND ACCEPTING
IN SUBST1TUTION THEREOF BOND NO. 829353 FROM
SEABOARD SURETY CO.
,WHEREAS, FRANCHISE ORDINANCE NO. .611 was passed by. the
Council of the City ofVernoll on. November 18, 1947; and
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company furnished
the City of Vernon with.Bond No. 126107 from the Pacific Indemnity
Company; and
WHEREAS, replacement Bond No. 829353 has now been received
from Seaboard Surety Company.

Dear Mr. Stewart:
In accordance with the instructions contained
in your letter of September 26, 1977, enclosed please find
copy of the minutes of a meeting cr the Vernon City Council
held November 15, 1977, at which the Council adopted Reso-
lution No. 4512 Exonerating Bond No. 126107 from the Pacific
Indemnity Company and Accepting in Substitution Thereof Bond
No. 829353 from Seaboard Surety Co.
Please excuse the delay in this matter, but as
you know, there were several unavoidable complications. If
there is any further information or documentation needed in
order to facilitate the delivery to the City of the new Bond,
please advise.

Ordinance No. 611 had
been removed from the
va1ut in 1952 by Mr.
Hubbard, who is now dead,
and that we are unable
to locate the Bond and
he said that all he needs
is a Resolution stating
terms in accordance with
the requests contained in
the attached letter. As
far as he or I could as-
certain, there has never
been an occassion for one
before, so I drafted this
one. Please check over.

Subject: FRANCHISE BOND
In 1947, when the present Franchise Ordinance No. 611
was passed, Edison furnished the City with a franchise bond from
the Pacific Indemnity Company (Bond No. 126107). In 1973, Edison
notified you that this bond would be replaced with a bond from a
different surety company when it became due for renewal (11/18/77).
The replacement has now been received for delivery to
you at your convenience. I have been requested to obtain the old
bond for cancellation, if available; or, if not, a copy of the
minutes of a meeting of the Vernon City Council which contain the
record of a resolution accepting the new bond and exonerating the
replaced Bond No. 126107 from Pacific Indemnity Company. Please
let me know if you have any questions about this procedure or bond.
