RESOLUTION NO. 4513
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROYING THE APPLICATION FOR
PEDESTRIAN FUNDS AUTHORIZED UNDER SB 821 AND
APPROVING THE ADOPTION OF ITS PEDESTRIAN PLAN
5 WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that 2% of each County's total
6 local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to fund
7 the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
8 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has a pedestrian plan in
9 conformance with specifications of the California Highway Design
10 Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan; and
11
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon desires to proceed with the
12 pedestrian plan within their City, utilizing the funds available
13 under SB 821.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Vernon
15 does resolve as follows:

1.
To adopt the Pedestrian Plan in conformance with
the specifications of the California Highway Design
Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan;
To authorize Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., as the City's
authorized signature and designated contract person

To apply for all funds available to the City of
Vernon allocated for Bikeways and Pedestrian faci1i
ties (SB 821)
SECTION 1: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
25 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereafter the same
26 shall be in full force and effect.

Herewith for your consideration isa proposed
Resolution approving an applicationforfundsfrom S.B.82l
Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Program for fiscal year
1977-78. SCAG has approved an allocation in the amount of
$2,591.00 for the City of Vernon.
It is proposed that the money be used to construct
pedestrian sidewalk ramps at Santa Fe Avenue and Pacific
Boulevard and at Santa Fe Avenue and Vernon Avenue. The
work will be performed by city forces.
It is recommended that the application be approved.
