2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 418 AND AUTHOR-
3 IZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS
FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SANTA FE
4 AVENUE AND 38TH STREET, JEWEL AVENUE AND 37TH
STREET, SO~O STREET AND BANDINI BOULEVARD-37TH
5 STREET, LEONIS BOULEVARD AND ALCOA AVENUE, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 418 OF THE CITY
6 OF VERNON
7 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
8 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 418 for.Traffic Signal
9 Installation at Santa Fe Avenue and 38th Street, Jewel Avenue
10 and 37th Street, Soto Street and Bandini Boulevard-37th Street,
11 Leonis Boulevard and Alcoa Av.enue ; and ,
12 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
13 determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Vernon
14 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
15 State law.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
17 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
Contract No. 418 is hereby approved by the
19 City Council of the City of Vernon.

S(:CTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
21 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
22 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 418.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
24 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
25 proposals or bids for Traffic Signal Installation at Santa Fe
26 Avenue and 38th Street, Jewel Avenue and 37th Street, Soto Street
27 and Bandini Boulevard-37th Street, Leonis Boulevard and Alcoa
28 Avenue, in accordance with Contract No. 418 and in accordance

1 with this Resolution.

There being no newspaper of general
SECTION 4:
3 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
4 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice,
5 or to cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
6 places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of
7 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis
8 Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in
9 the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at
10 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said city.

The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
SECTION 5:
12 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
13 posting of said notice shall not be less then ten (10) days
14 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
15 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
16 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
17 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
18 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m., on the 7th day
19 of February, 1978, and in accordance with Contract No. 418
20 approved by said City.

The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
SECTION 6:
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of January,
1978.
