RESOLUTION NO. 4534
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON CONSENTING TO ESTABLISH-
MENT OF A PORTION OF DOWNEY ROAD WITHIN
SAID CITY AS A PART OF THE SYSTEM OF
HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did on December 20,
1977, duly adopt a Resolution declaring that portion of Downey
Road between Bandini Boulevard and Vernon Avenue as a part of the
System of Highways of the County of Los Angeles, all as provided
in Section 1700 to 1704 inclusive of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors by said Resolution
requested this Council to give its consent to construction
improvements and perform appurtenant work within said portion in
the City of Vernon described above;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
Consent to Inclusion in County Highways
System. This City Council does hereby consent to the establish-
ment of a portion of Downey Road between Bandini Boulevard and
Vernon Avenue and intersecting streets appurtenant to the constru
ction thereof, within the City of Vernon, as a part of the
System of Highways of the County of Los Angeles as provided in
Sections 1700 to 1704 inclusive of the Streets and Highways Code
)
of the State of California. Said consent is for the purpose of
constructing improvements and performing appurtenant work as may
be necessary by the Countl of Los Angeles.
SECTION 2:
Finding of a Minor Nature. This City
Council does hereby find that pursuant to Government Code, Sectio

1 65402 (b), the aforesaid improvement. is for street improvements
2 of a minor nature and that, therefore, the provisions of said
3 Section requiring the submission to and report upon said project
4 by the City Planning Agency do not apply.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
7 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
8 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of February,
9 1978.
