RESOLUTION NO. 4541
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF
STEINY AND COMPANY, INC., FOR TRAFFIC
SIGNAL INSTALLATION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 418 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Contract No. 418 of the City of Vernon was
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
Resolution 4527 and sealed bids were opened on February 7, 1978;
and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
10 Jr., Director of Public works/Building, who has reported to the
11 City Council under the date of February 28, 1978, recommending
12 that the Contract for Traffic Signal Installation, be executed
13 with Steiny and Company, Inc., on the basis of their bid in the
14 sum of Thirty Six Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars and nollOO
15 ($36,900.00), being the lowest bid meeting the contract
16 requirements.
17 NOW, THEREFIRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
18 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
20 does hereby award Contract No. 418, in accordance with the
21 recommendation of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public
22 Works/Building.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
24 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
25 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
26 the receipt of an executed contract from Steiny and Company,
27 Inc., accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

Gentlemen:
The bids received and opened at the City Council
meeting on February 7, 1978 for Traffic Signal Installation,
Santa Fe Avenue and 38th Street ,Jewel Avemue and 37th
Street, So to Street and Bandini Boulevard-37th Street,
LeonisBoulevard and Alcoa Avenue, according to Contract No.
418 have been reviewed. .
It is recommended that the contract be awarded to
Steiny.and Company, Inc., 4620 East La Palma, Anaheim, Calif-
ornia92807 on the basis of their bid $36,900.
