RESOLUTION NO. 4546
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ESTABLISHING A SENIOR
DISPATCH POSITION AND APPOINTING JAMES
McCUNE TO FILL SAID POSITION
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Vernon has
6 established a communication center under the temporaDYY juris-
7 diction of the City Clerk's Department as part of its civilian~
8 ization prograIlliand
9
WHEREAS, The City Council appointed, and is in the
10 process of appointing .individuals to serve as dispatchers; and
11
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Vernon finds
12 and determines that it is necessary to establish a Senior Dispatch
13 position in order to provide needed supervision in the communica-
14 tion centeri and
15
WHEREAS, The City Clerk/Director of Finance, by
16 communication dated March 1, 1978, recommends that Mr. James
17 McCune be appointed the Senior Dispatcher subject to a probationar
18 evaluation period of one (1) yeari and
19
WHEREAS, The City ClerklDirector of Finance recommends
20 that the position be authorized as a first step pay rate
21 commensurate with the existing third step of the current dispatche
22 rate.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
24 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26 does hereby approve and authorize the establishment of a Senior
27 Dispatch position within the Dispatch Department effective March
28 2, 1978.

SECTION 2: That the salary schedule for said position
2 shall be as follows:
3 Step 5 $940.00
4 Step 4 $992.00
5 Step 3 $1,047.00
6 Step 2 $1,105.00
7 Step 1 $1,166.00
8 SECTION 3 : That James McCune is hereby appointed to
9 fill the position of Senior Dispatcher effective March 2, 1978
10 and that it will be subject to a one (1) year probationary
11 evaluation period.

SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
13 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
14 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
