RESOLUTION NO. 4550
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCT-
ION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS, DOCUMENTS,
INSTRUMENTS, BOOKS AND PAPERS, PURSUANT
TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 34090
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of th~ City of Vernon, under
6 date of March :3:m, 1978, has recommended that certain records,
7 documents, instruments, books and papers under his charge and
8 under the charge of other department heads be destroyed; and
9
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds
10 that none of the foregoing records affect the title to real
11 property, or liens thereon; and
12
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds
13 that none of said records are court records nor are records
14 required to be kept by statute, and that the same are more than
15 seven years old, and that none of said records are minutes,
16 ordinances, or resolutions of the legislative body of the City
17 of Vernon; and
18
WHEREAS, the written consent of the City Attorney and
19 the heads of each appropriate City Department to the destrucfion
20 of such records have been obtained.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
22 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
That the recitals contained hereinabove
24 are true and correct.

SECTION 2:
That the City Council of the City of
26 Vernon does hereby authorize the destruction by the department
27 head in charge of said records, without making a copy thereof.

SEC'1'ION 3: That the City Council of the City of
2 Vernon finds that the same are no longer required for any purposes
3 of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: That the records, documents, instruments,
5 books or papers to be destroyed are as follows; all. for the
6 calendar year, 1970:

SECTION 5: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
14 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
15 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
