A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 414 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICB INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR INS~ALLATION OF A BICKETT STREET
STORH DRAIN OF A~PROXI~mTELY 248 LINEAR FEET
OF REINFORCEO;CONCRETE PIPE AND APPURTENANCES
AT BlCKETT STREET SOUTHERLY OF 54TH STREET,

WHEREAS, '.'i;.here has been pr.eserlted to the City Council
of the City of Vernon Contract No. 414 for installation of a

Bickett Street storm drain of approximately 24S'linear feet of

reinforced concrete I?~pe ,and/appnrtenancefs at Bickett Street
southerly of 54th Street; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
14
that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
15
State law.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
17
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 414 is hereby approved by the
19 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
21 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
22 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 414.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
24 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
25 proposals or bids for installation of a Bickett Street storm
26 drain of approximately 248 linear feet of reinforced concrete
27 pipe and appurtenances at Bickett Street southerly of 54th Street,
28 in accordance with Contract No. 414 and in accordance with this
1 Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
3 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
4 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
5 the same to, be post~<,1, 'in three of the most public places in the
6 City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and

7 Santa Fe Avenue, tbenortheast cOrner .0:17 :r,.eQnis Boulevard and
8 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
9 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,

in said City.

11 SECTION 5:' '1'heCity Clerk of the City of VernOn is
12 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
13 posting of said notice shall not be less then ten (10) days
14 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
15 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
16 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
17 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
18 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 18th day of
19 April, 1978, and in accordance with Contract No. 414 approVed by
20 said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
22 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
23 after the same shall be in full force and effect.
