2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF GEORGE MILLER
3 CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF A
BICKETT STREET STOffi1 DRAIN OF APPROXIMATELY
4 248 LINEAR FEET OF REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE
AND APPURTENANCES AT BICKETT STREET SOUTHERLY
5 OF 54TH STREET IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 414 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING
6 THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 414 of the City of Vernon was
8 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
9 Resolution No. 4560, and sealed bids were opened on April 18,
10 1978; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
12 Jr., Director of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the
13 City Council under the date of April 24, 1978, recommending that
14 the contract for installation of a Bickett Street storm drain of
15 approximately 248 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe and
16 appurtenances at Bickett Street southerly of 54th Street be
17 executed with George Miller Construction Company on the basis of
18 their bid in the sum of Nineteen Thousand Six Hundred Seventy-
19 Four Dollars and No/lOa ($19,674.00), being the lowest bid
20 meeting the contract requirements.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
22 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
24 hereby award Contract No. 414, in accordance with the recommenda-
25 tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public Works/Building,
26 and authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of
27 the City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City

1 Treasurer is hereby c1irectr~d to return to unsuccessful bidders
2 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
3 the receipt of an executed contract from George Miller Construc-
4 tion Company, accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6
certify to the passage of this Resolution thereupon and there-
7
after the same shall be in full force and effect.

ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of May, 1978.
