recommended that Mr. Albert B. Mervish be appointed as Chief

Deputy City Clerki and

WHEREAS, the City C1erklDirector of Finance recommends

that Mr. Mervish be appointed to fill the position at the third
17
step pay rate because of his exceptional skills and qualifications
18
for said position.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby approve and authorize the establishment of a Chief

Deputy City Clerk position within the City Clerk's Department
24
effective July 1, 197&.

SECTION 2: That the salary schedule for said position
26 shall be as follows:
