1 RESOLUTION NO. 4594
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF TENNYSON
3 PIPELINE COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF A WATER
METER AND PRESSURE REGULATING FACILITY AT
4 FRUITLAND AVENUE AT DOWNEY ROAD, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 421 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
5 AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 421 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 4573, and sealed bids were opened on June 20, 1978i
9 and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson, Jr.,
11 Director of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the City
12 Council under the date of August 11, 1978, recommending that
13 the contract for installation of a water meter and pressure
14 regulating facility at Fruitland Avenue at Downey Road be executed
15 with Tennyson Pipeline Company on the basis of their bid in the
16 sum of Thirty-Eight Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Five Dollars
17 and No/lOO ($38,845.00), being the lowest bid meeting the contract
18 requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
20 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
22 hereby award Contract No. 421, in accordance with the recommenda-
23 tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public Works/Building
24 and authorize the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of
25 the City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
27 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
28 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
1 the receipt of an executed contract from Tennyson Pipeline
2 Company, accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The 'City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4
certify to the passage of this Resolution thereupon and thereafter
5
the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of August, 1978.
