RESOLUTION NO. 4595
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON DESIGNATING THE CHIEF OF THE FIRE
DEPART!-1ENT TO BE THE CITY'S REPRESENTATIVE
IN RESPECT TO THE CITY OWNED FIRE STATION
PROPERTIES
WHEREAS, Section 602(n) of the Penal Code of the State
of California requires the owner of real property to designate
an agent for the enforcement of said sectioni and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Vernon and
the acting Chief of the Fire Department have recommended that the
Chief of the Fire Department be designated as the City's agent
in respect to the management of the City's owned four (4) fire
station properties and the enforcement of Section 602(n) of the
Penal Code in respect to said fire station properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the Chief of the Fire Department be
designated as the City's authorized representative in respect
to the City's four (4) fire station properties listed on the
attached Exhibit nA" incorporated herein by reference as though
fully set forth at length for purposes of enforcement of Section
602(n) of the California Penal Code.
SECTION 2: In the absence of the Chief of the Fire
Department, the Administrative Battalion Chief or the Battalion
Chief or the most senior officer on duty shall be the alternative
designated person in respect to the management of the properties
listed in the attached Exhibit "A" and for purposes of
enforcement of Section 602(n) of the California Penal Code.
SECTION 3: That in the event the Chief of the Fire

Department or Battalion Chief is out of town or not available,
the most senior officer in charge of the Fire Department $hall be
designated as the next al ternati ve designee to, ,manage the
properties listed in the attached Exhibit "A" and be responsible
for the enforcement of Section 602(n) of the Penal Code in
respect to said properties.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15th day of August, 1978.
