A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 423 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR RESURFACING OF DOWNEY ROAD AND
BANDINI BOULEVARD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 423 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 423 for resurfacing of Downey
8 Road and Bandini Boulevardi and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
10 determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Vernon
11 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State
12 law.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
14 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 423 is hereby approved by the
16 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
18 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
19 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 423.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
21 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
22 proposals or bids for resurfacing of Downey Road and Bandini
23 Boulevard, in accordance with Contract No. 423 and in accordance
24 with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
26 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
27 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
28 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the

City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street
and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard
and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of
the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, in said City.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m., on the 19th day
of September, 1978, and in accordance with Contract No. 423
approved by said City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of September, 1978.
