A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SIGNAL MAINTENANCE
INC. FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT'SOTO
STREET AND 26TH STREET IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 424 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 424 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 4592, and sealed bids were opened on September 5,
9 197 8 i and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
11 Jr."nirector of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the
12 City Council under the date of September 11, 1978, recommending
13 that the contract for traffic signal installation at Soto Street
14 and 26th Street be executed with Sig~al Maintenance Inc. on the
15 basis of their bid in the sum of Twelve Thousand Seven Hundred
16 Sixty-Seven Dollars and Sixty-Seven Cents ($12,767.67), being
17 the lowest bid meeting the contract requirements.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
21 hereby award Contract No. 424, in accordance with the recommenda-
22 tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public Works/Building,
23 and authorize the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
24 City.

SECTION 2: All other bids were rejected and the City
26 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
27 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
28 the receipt of an executed contract from Signal Maintenance Inc.
1 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this Resolution thereupon and thereafter
4 the same shall be in full force and effect.
5 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of September, 1978.
