RESOLUTION NO. 4600

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF VERNON PAVING
COMPANY FOR RESURFACING OF DOWNEY ROAD AND
BANDINI BOULEVARD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 423 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING
THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 423 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 4597, and sealed bids were opened on September 19,
9 1978 i and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson, Jr.
11 Director of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the City
12 Council under the date of September 27, 1978, recommending that
13 the contract for the resurfacing of Downey Road and Bandini
14 Boulevard be executed with Vernon Paving Company on the basis of
15 their bid in the sum of Thirty-Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred
16 Sixty-Three Dollars and No Cents ($37,763.00), being the lowest
17 bid meeting the contract requirements.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City..Cbuncil of the City of Vernon does
21 hereby award Contract No. 423, in accordance with the recommeda-
22 tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public WorkslBuilding
23 and authorize the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
24 City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
26 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
27 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
28 the receipt of an.executed contract from Vernon Paving Company
1 accompanied by all required bonds and ce.rti.:f;i.cates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this Resolution thereupon and thereafter
4 the same shall be in full force and effect.
5 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of October, 1978.
