A RESOLUTION OF THE eITY eOUNeIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AeeEPTING THE BID OF VERNON PAVING
eOMPANY FOR THE RESURFAeING OF 38TH STREET,
ROSS STREET, AND IRVING STREET, IN AeeORDANCE
WITH eONTRAeT NO. 426 OF THE eITY OF VERNON
AND APPROVING THE EXEeUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

6 WHEREAS, eontract No. 426 of the eity Of Vernon wa,s
7 approved by the eity eouncil of the eity of Vernon., pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 4606, and sealed bids were ope,ned on November 7,
9 197 8 i and,
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
11 Jr., Director of Public Works/Building, whO ha,8 reported to the
12 ei ty eouncil under the date of December 1, 1978, re.comrnending
13 tha,t the contrac,t for the resurfacing of 38th Street, Ross Street,
14 and Irving Stre.et be executed with the Vernon Paving eompa,ny
15 on the ba,8is of their bid in the sum of Thirty Thousand Three
16 Hundred Sixty-rive and 50/100 ($30,365.501, being the lowest
17 bid meeting the contract requirements.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE eITY eOUNeIL OF
19 THE eITY Qr VERNON AS FOLLOW$:

SEeT;I:.ON 1: The eity Council of the eity of Vernon does
21 h~repy award Contract NO. 426, in accordance with the recomrnenda-
22 tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Dire.ctor of Publi.c Work8/Building,
23 a,nd a,uthorizes the Mayor to execute said contra,ct on behalf of the
24 eity.

SEeT;I:ON 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
26 Trea8urer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
27 any ca,shier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
28 the, receipt of an executed contract from Vernon Paving eompany,

1 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SEeTION 3: The eity elerk of the eity of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this Resolution thereupon and thereafter
4 the same shall be in full force and effect.
