A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 431 AND AUTHOR-
IZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS
FOR PROVIDING.TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS,
SUPPLIES AND SERVICES NECESSARY IN ORDER TO
PROVIDE SLURRY SEALING ON 44TH AND 46TH STREET,
FROM SOTO STREET TO ALCOA AVENUE AND FROM SOTO
STREET TO BOYLE AVENUE RESPECTIVELY

8 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
9 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 431 for providing transporation
10 equipment, materials, supplies and services necessary in order to
11 provide slurry sealing on 44th and 46th Street, from Soto Street
12 to Alcoa Avenue and from Soto Street to Boyle Avenue, respectively;
13 and,
14 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
15 determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Vernon
16 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State
17 law.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 431 is hereby approved by the
21 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
23 hereby directed to file\in his office at the City Hall of the
24 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 431.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
26 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
27 proposals or bids for providing transportation equipment, material ,
28 supplies and services necessary in order to provide slurry sealing
1 on 44th and 46th Street, from Soto Street to Alcoa Avenue and from
2 Soto Street to Boyle Avenue, respectively, in accordance with
3 Contract No. 431 and in accordance with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
5 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
6 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
7 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the
8 City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street
9 and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
10 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
11 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
12 in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
14 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
15 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
16 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
17 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
18 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk of
19 the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, Cali-
20 fornia 90058, until the hour of 2: 00 p.m., on the 15th day of May,
21 1979, and in accordance with Contract No. 431 approved by said
22 City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
24
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
25
after the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of May, 1979.
