A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF RON ALLEN,
SLURRY SEAL CONTRACTOR, FOR SLURRY SEALING ON
44TH and 46TH STREET, FROM SOTO STREET TO
ALCOA AVENUE AND FROM SO TO STREET TO BOYLE
AVENUE RESPECTIVELY IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 431 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE
EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

8 WHEREAS, Contract No. 431 of the City of Vernon was
9 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
10 Resolution No. 4644, and sealed bids were opened on May 15, 1979;
11 and,
12 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson, Jr.
13 Directors of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the City
14 Council under the date of May 21, 1979, recommending that the
15 contract for slurry sealing on 44th and 46th Street from Soto
16 Street to Alcoa Avenue and from Soto Street to Boyle Avenue, re-
17 spectively, be executed with Ron Allen, Slurry SealCcmtractort'2'
18 on the basis of their bid in the sum of Eight Thousand Eight
19 Hundred Twenty-Six Dollars and Forty Cents ($8,826.40), being the
20 lowest bid meeting the contract requirements.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 'BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
22 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The/City Council of the City of Vernon does
24 hereby award Contract No. 431, in accordance with the recommenda-
25 tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public Works/Building,
26 and authorize the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
27 City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
1 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
2 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon the
3 receipt of an executed contract from Ron Allen, Slurry Seal
4 Contractor, accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6 certify to the passage of this Resolution thereupon and thereafter
7 the same shall be in full force and effect.
8 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June, 1979.
