A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON PAYING TRIBUTE TO ROTARY CLUB
#3209 OF THE CITY OF VERNON ON I:TS 50'I'n
ANNIVERSARY

5 WHEREAS, Rotary Club #3209 of the City of Vernon
6 was originally formed in May of 1929; and,
7 WHEREAS, Rotary Club #3209 received its Charter on
8 September 16, 1929; and,
9 WHEREAS, Rotary Club #3209 is celebrating its 50th
10 anniversary; and,
II WHEREAS, many citizens of the City of Vernon including
12 former Council members have been members of Rotary Club #3209; and,
13 WHEREAS, Rotary Club #3209 has served the Vernon
14 community with distinction during the past 50 years in fulfilling
15 charitable and benevolent activities and purposes within the
16 Vernon community; and,
17 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
18 to extend its congratulations to Rotary Club #3209 for such
19 distinguished services during the past 50 years.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
21 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
23 hereby finds and determines that Rotary Club #3209 has served the
24 Vernon community with distinction within the past 50 years.
25
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26 hereby extends its appreciation to Rotary Club #3209 for its
27 help in fulfilling the benevolent and charitable needs of the
28 Vernon community during the past 50 years.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon

shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and present a

certified copy thereof to JOHN S. SHEPHERD, the current President
4

same shall be in full force and effect.
of Rotary Club #3209, and that thereupon and thereafter the

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of December, 1979.
