" 1 RESOLUTION NO. 4687 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 3 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE 4 OF. THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE VERNON POLICE OFFICERS' BENEFIT ASSOCIATION (EMPLOYEE 5 GROUP 2) (AUGUST 23, 1979) 6 WHEREAS, the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit Association 7 has been recognized as an employee organization, pursuant to 8 Resolution No. 4027 of the City Council of the City of Vernon, 9 and have met and conferred with the Municipal Employee Relations 10 Representative of the City of Vernon; and II WHEREAS, members of the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit 12 Association, representing Employee Group 2 had executed a 13 Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipal Employee Relations 14 Representative of the City of Vernon, covering the period 15 September I, 1979 to and including August 31, 1982; and 16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant 17 to Resolution.~o. 4667 approved said Memorandum of Understanding; 18 and 19 WHEREAS, members of the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit 20 Association representing Employee Group 2 have jointly met and 21 pursuant to sqid meeting and conferring have executed an Amendment 22 to said Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipal Employee 23 Relations Representative of the City of Vernon amending Article II 24 of said Memorandum of Understanding which is attached hereto as 25 Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein as though fully set forth 26 at length; and 27 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon does 28 hereby approve said Amendment to said Memorandum of Understanding. .,. 26 27 28 .. ... 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 2 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 3 SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon 4 does hereby. approve and ratify the Amendment to Memorandum of 5 Understanding between the Municipal Employee Relations Representa- 6 tive of the City of Vernon and the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit 7 Association (Employee Group 2). 8 SECTION 2: That the approval and ratification set forth 9 herein are subject to all the terms, covenants and conditions 10 contained in said Amendment to said Memorandum of Understanding. II SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon 12 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon 13 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 14 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of December, 1979. 15 ~" LEONIS C. AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BET\vEEN THE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE VERNON POLICE OFFICERS' BENEFIT ASSOCIATION (Employee Group 2) (December 9, 1979) The Municipal Employee Relations Representative of the City of Vernon (hereinafter "MERR" and "Vernon" respectively) and the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit Association (hereinafter called "Police Association") hereby agree to jointly recommend to the City Council of Vernon for approval by resolution the Amendments hereinafter set forth to the Memorandum of Under- standing betwe~n them. dated August 23, 1979: 1. Article II is hereby amended by the addition of Section Il.7. 2. Article II, Section 11.7 provides as follows: "lI.7 All employees who are eligible to receive compensatory time off pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Sections ll.l through and including 11.6, shall be eligible to select one of the following optional methods of compensation for L;:i'iIBrr ~~ ... .,. I 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 l2 13 14 15 l6 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 ,---.., .,' - --., time earned during the period from December 9, 1979 through and including February 29, 1980. 11.7.1 Option 1 An employee may receive overtime pay at said employees regular rate of pay during said period. ll.7.2 Option 2 An employee may accumulate as compensatory time off at a straight time rate a total not to exceed twenty-four (24) hours during said period and said accumulated compensatory time off must be taken prior to June 30, 1980. 11.7.3 Option 3 An employee may receive compensation in accordance with Sections ll.l through 11.6 durin9'.r said period." 3. The foregoing Amendments shall become effective on December 9, 1979 upon the approval and ratification of the City Council of Vernon, during its regularly scheduled meeting of December 18, 1979.
