A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF R & M HIGHWAY
IMPROVEMENT FOR TRAFFIC PAVEMENT STRIPING FOR
1980 IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 434 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF
SAID CONTRACT

WHEREAS, Contract No. 434 of the City of Vernon was

approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8
Resolution No. 4686, and sealed bids were opened on December 18,
9
1979; and,
10
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson, Jr.
11

Director of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the City
Council under the date of December 18, 1979, recommending that
13
the contract for traffic pavement striping for 1980 be executed
14
with R &M Highway Improvement on the basis of their bid in the
15
16
sum of Fifteen Thousand Eight Hundred Eight Dollars and Eight-Four
Cents ($15,808.84), being the lowest responsible bid meeting
17
the contract requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
19
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby award Contract No. 434, in accordance with the recommenda-
22
tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., Director of Public Works/Building
23
and authorizes the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of
24
the City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
27
any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
28
the receipt of an executed contract from R & M Highway Improvement

accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of January, 1980.
