Resolution No. 4690 ..~^ .. ... .. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 4690 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 1980, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALI- FORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES 3 4 5 6 7 WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to 8 General Law Cities in the State of California, a regular general 9 municipal election shall be held on April 8, 1980, for the 10 II election of two (2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years. 12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF 13 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 14 SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the 15 laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities 16 within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and 17 ordered, held in the City of Vernon, California on Tuesday, 18 April 8, 1980, a regular municipal election of the qualified 19 electors of said City for the purpose of electing two (2) members 20 of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) 21 years. 22 SECTION_2: That the ballots to be used at said election 23 shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as 24 may be required by law to be used thereat. 25 SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby 26 authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and 27 all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, 28 equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to ... .....'. 1 properly and lawfully conduct said election. 2 SECTION 4: That the polls for said election shall be 3 open at 7:00 a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain 4 open continuously from said time until 5: 30 p.m. of the same day 5 when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in ~14301 6 of the Elections Code of the State of California. 7 SECTION 5: That in all particulars not recited in this 8 Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided 9 by law for holding municipal elections in said City. 10 SECTION 6: That notice of the time and place of holding II said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby author- 12 ized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional 13 notice of said election, in time, form and manner as required by 14 law. 15 16 SECTION 7: 'l'h.at the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same 17 in the bOOk of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make l8 a minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the 19 proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of 20 the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. 21 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of January, 1980. 22 ~. 23 24 25 26 AT'l'ES'l'; &~#~~ aRUCE V.MALKENHORS'l', City Clerk 27 28 -2- ~ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 y.
