A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 430 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR ASPHALT RESURFACING OF CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF ALAMEDA STREET AT VERNON AVENUE
AND PORTIONS OF 26TH STREET AND ASPHALT
SURFACING AT PARKING AREA OF FIRE STATION NO. 1
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 430 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON

8 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
9 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 430 for asphalt resurfacing of
10 certain portions of Alameda Street at Vernon Avenue and portions
11 of 26th Street and asphalt surfacing at parking area of Fire
12 Station No.1; and
13 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
14 determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Vernon
15 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State
16 law.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
18 THE CIT;! OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 430 is hereby approved by the
20 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City ClerK of the City of Vernon is
22 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
23
City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 430.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
24
25 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
26 proposals or bids for asphalt resurfacing of certain portions of
27 Alameda Street at Vernon Avenue and portions of 26th Street and
28 asphalt surfacing at parking area of Fire Station No.1, in
1 accordance with Contract No. 430 and in accordance with this
2 Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being nonew~paper of general circula~
4 tion printed, published or circulated in the, City of Vernon, the
5 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
6 the same to be pos'ted, in three of the most public places in the
7 C~ty of Vernon, to wit: the northwe.st corner of 38th Stree,t and
8 Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
9 PaQific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
10 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa ;Fe Avenue
11 in said City.

SECTION 5: The City C1erl<, of the city of Ve.rnon is
13 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
14 posting Of said notice sh.all not be less than ten (10) days
15 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
16 notice $hal1 provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
17 rece;i:ved by th,e City of Vernon at the office, of th.e City Clerk. of
18 th.e City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, Ca1i-
19 fornia 90058, unti:,l the hour of 2;00 p.m., on the 4th day of
20 March, 1980, and in accordance, wi.th Contract No. 430 approved by
21 said City.
