A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON CHANGING THE ENERGY COST ADJUSTMENT
BILLING FACTOR CHARGED FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY
DISTRIBUTED AND SUPPLIED TO ITS ELECTRICAL
CONSUMERS AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 4707

6 WHEREAS, Ordinance Nos. 873 and 895 provides for an
7 Energy Cost Adjustment Billing Factor and for changes in such
8 billing factor to be made from time to time by resolutions of the
9 City Council of the City of Vernon when, in the City Council's
10 opinion, such changes are necessary for the sound financial
11 position of the Light and Power Operating Funds; and
12 WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company (hereinafter
13 "Edison") has been authorized by the Federal Energy Regulatory
14 Commission to make monthly changes in the fuel cost adjustment
15 charged Vernon for resale power and Edison has increased such
16 fuel cost adjustments during the last several months which has
17 increased the cost of power purchased by the City of Vernon from
18 Edison; and
19 WHEREAS, the City, Council of the City of Vernon deems
20 it necessary for the sound financial position of the Light and
21 Power Operating Funds to increase the Vernon Energy Cost Adjustmen
22 Billing Factor; and
23 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4707 previously adopted on
24 February 19, 1980 provided for an effective date of April 1, 1980;
25 and
26 WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 895 will not be effective until
27 April 3, 1980.
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

1 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
3 does hereby adopt an Energy Cost Adjustment Billing Factor of
4 2.142t per KWH on electrical energy sold to its electrical customers
5
SECTION 2: That the effective date of said Energy Cost
6 Adjustment Billing .Factor shall be April 3, 1980,' and shall
7 continue until rescinded or amended by a resolution of the City
8 Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: That this Resolution rescinds existing
10 Energy Cost Adjustment Billing Factor Resolution No. 4707.

SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
12 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
13 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
14 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of March, 1980.
