A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE BID OF
ROBERT ESCUDERO, INC. FOR ASPHALT RESURFACING
OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF ALAMEDA STREET AT
VERNON AVENUE AND PORTIONS OF 26TH STREET AND
ASPHALT SURFACING AT PARKING AREA OF FIRE
STATION #1 IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO.
430 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE
EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

WHEREAS, Contract No. 430 of the City of Vernon was
9
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
10
Resolution No. 4705, and sealed bids were opened on March 4, 1980;
11
and
12
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
13
Director of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the City
14
Council under the date of March 11, 1980, recorrunending that the
15
16
contract for asphalt resurfacing of certain portions of Alameda
Street at Vernon Avenue and portions of 26th Street and asphalt
17
surfacing at parking area of Fire Station #1 be executed with
18
Robert Escudero, Inc. on the basis of their bid in the sum of
19
Ninety~One Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars and No Cents
20

C$91,725.00J, peing the lowest responsible bid meeting the contrac
requirements;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
23
THE C:(TY QFVERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
25

hereby award Contract No. 430, in accordance with the recorrunenda-
tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Director of Public Works/Building, and
27
authorizes the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
28
City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
2 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
3 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
4 the receipt of an executed contract from Robert Escudero, Inc.
5 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
7 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
8 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
9 APPROVED AND ADOPTEb this 18th day of March, 1980.
