A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING PURCHASING DEPARTMENT
QUOTATION NO. 1148 AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS FOR THE
DISPOSAL OF MATERIALS-FROM- THE LIGHTA..1\JD
POWER DEPARTMENT AS.. SURPLUS PURSUANT TO
SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH PURCHASING DEPARTMENT QUOTATION
NO. 1148 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

8 WHEREAS, Frank Murillo, Purchasing Agent, has recommended
9 to the City Council of the City of Vernon under the date of
10 March 18, 1980 that all materials and items listed on Exhibit "An,
11
attached hereto and made a part hereof, from the Light and Power
12
Department are surplus to the needs of the Light and Power De-
13
partment and the City of Vernon in accordance with Section 2.31
14
of the Vernon City Code; and
15
16
WHEREAS, the estimated value of said materials exceed
the informal bid limit in the purchasing ordinance and requires a
17
formal bid; and
18
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
19
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
20
that said materials be disposed of as surplus pursuant to Section
21
2.31 of the Vernon City Code and that sealed proposals or bids be
22
solicited in accordance with said Purchasing Department Quotation
23
No. 1148 of the City of Vernon;
24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
25
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
27 finds and determines that said materials and items listed on
28 Exhibit "An attached hereto are surplus to the needs of the Light

and Power Department and the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
approves Purchasing Department Quotation No. 1148.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the City
of Vernon a copy of said Purchasing Department Quotation No. 1148.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed pro-
posals or bids for the sale of materials and items listed on
Exhibit "A" attached hereto in accordance with Purchasing De-
partment Quotation No. 1148 and in accordance with this
Resolution.
SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general circula-
tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause the
same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the City
of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa
Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific
Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall
of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said
City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days before
the opening of the bids for the proposed Purchasing Department
Quotation No. 1148. Said notice shall provide that sealed pro-
posals or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, at the City Hall,

1 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, vernon, California 90058, until the hour
2 of 2:00 p.m. on April 1, 1980, and in accordance with Purchasing
3 Department Quotation No. 1148 approved by said City.

SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
5 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
6 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
7 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of March, 1980.

Located at the Vernon Substation Yard are 60 Stationary
'Batteries (X-Side FM-9's) that.will be included in ,the
Vernon 'Salvage Sale. They each weigh approximately 75
Ibs. They can be inspected any time between 8 a _,m. and
4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Vernon Substation is
located at 2715 E. 50th Street, Vernon, California. See
Ed Davis, Station Chief.
