A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE ASPHALT RESURFACING
OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF ALAMEDA STREET AT
VERNON AVENUE AND PORTIONS OF 26TH STREET
AND ASPHALT SURFACING AT PARKING AREA OF
FIRE STATION #1, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 430 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

7 WHEREAS, ROBERT ESCUDERO, INC. was awarded the Contract
8 for asphalt resurfacing of certain portions of Alameda Street at
9 Vernon Avenue and portions of 26th Street and asphalt surfacing
10 at parking area of Fire Station #1, pursuant to Contract No. 430
11 of the City of Vernon; and
12 WHEREAS, Arthur E. Nelson, Director of Public Worksl
13 Building, has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon
14 that said work has been completed, under date of April 17, 1980,
15 and recommends that the work be accepted and payment be made to

16 the Contractor in accordance with the Agreement.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
18 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the asphalt resurfacing of certain
20 portions of Alameda Street at Vernon Avenue and portions of 26th
21 Street and asphalt surfacing at parking area of Fire Station #1,
22 pursuant to Contract No. 430 is hereby approved by the City of
23 Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the total contract amount is Eighty-Five
25
26
Thousand One Hundred Seven Dollars and Forty-Seven Cents
J
($85,107.47) .
That there is now due to the Contractor a final
27
partial payment totaling Seventy-Six Thousand Five Hundred Ninety-
28
Six Dollars and Seventy-Two Cents ($76,596i72), which should be

paid at this time and the remaining ten percent (10%) of the total
2
Contract amount or the sum of Eight Thousand Five Hundred Ten
3
Dollars and Seventy-Five Cents ($8,510.75) is payable thirty-five
(35) days after the adoption of this Resolution and the City
4

Council of the City of Vernon hereby directs payment of said sums
6
as set forth to ROBERT ESCUDERO, INC. and instructs the City Clerk
7
to file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
9
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
10
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of May, 1980.
