A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF ROY ALLEN SLURRY
SEAL FOR SLURRY SEALING OF VARIOUS STREETS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 435" OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CONTRACT

WHEREAS, Contract No. 435 of the City of Vernon was
7
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8
Resolution No. 4722, and sealed bids were opened on May 6, 1980;
9
and
10
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
11
Director of Public Works/Building, who has reported to the City
12
Council under the date of May 13, 1980, recommending that the
13
contract for slurry sealing of various streets be executed with
14
Roy Allen Slurry Seal on the basis of their bid in the sum of
15
16
Six Thousand Three Hundred Eleven Dollars and Ninety Cents
($6,311.90), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract
17
requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby award Contract No. 435, in accordance with the recommenda-
22
tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Director of Public Works/Building, and
23
authorizes the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
24
City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
27
any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon the
28
receipt of an executed contract from Roy Allen Slurry Seal

1 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
4 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
5 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of May, 1980.
