RESOLUTION NO. 4752
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON EXTENDING CONTRACT NO. 411 FOR
TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE, 1977-1980, WITH
SIGNAL MAINTENANCE INC. FOR A PERIOD OF ONE
YEAR, SEPTEMBER 1, 1980 TO AUGUST 31, 1981,
AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon approved
Contract No. 411 on July 19, 1977 by Resolution No. 4490; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 4493 on August 16, 1977 approving the execution
of Contract No. 411 for traffic signal maintenance, 1977-1980,
with Signal Maintenance Inc.; and
WHEREAS, said Contract No. 411 provides for a three (3)
13 year period from. September 1, 19.77 to August 31, 1980; and
14 WHEREAS, Arthur E. Nelson, Director of Community
15 Services, has ascertained that the formula provided for in said
16 Contract No. 411 is a fair and reasonable fee for the services
17 rendered and that he is unable to obtain an informal bid from
18 any other supplier which would be less than the fees provided
19 for in said extended agreement; and
20 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon and Signai Maintenance Inc.
21 wish to extend said Contract No. 411 for an additional one (1)
22 year period from September 1, 1980 to August 31, 1981 under the
23 same terms and conditions, namely, that the rates provided for
24 in said contract would be increased 13% in accordance with the
25 formula set forth therein.
26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY cOUNCIL OF
27 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon

1 does hereby .find and determine that the recitals contained herein
2 above are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That Contract No. 411 for traffic signal
maintenance by and between City of Vernon and Signal Maintenance
+n.c. is hereby extended. for a one {I} year period from Sep-
tember 1, 1980 to August 31, 1981.
SECTION.3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves the ellecution ofJCoritract No. 411 for traffic
signal maintenance from September 1, 1980 to August 31, 1981
and hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter>the same shall be in full force and effect.
