RESOLUTION NO. 4763
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SAFETY STRIPING
SERVICE, INC. FOR TRAFFIC PAVEMENT STRIPING 1981
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 438 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 438 of the City of Vernon was
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
Resolution No. 4761, and sealed bids were opened on December 2,
1980; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
Council under the date of December 2, 1980, recommending that the
contract for traffic pavement striping 1981 be executed with
Safety Striping Service, Inc. on the basis of their bid in the
sum of Twenty Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty-Nine Dollars and Ninet _
Nine Cents ($20,859.99) , being the lowest responsible bid meeting
the contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby award Contract No. 438, in accordance with the recommenda-
tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Director of Community Services, and
authorizes the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
City.
SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon the

1 receipt of an executed contract from Safety Striping Service, Inc.
2 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
5 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
6 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of December, 1980.
