RESOLUTION NO. 4768
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF
VERNON APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) NEW
POLICE VEHICLES FROM MAURICE J. SOPP & SON
CHEVROLET IN HUNTINGTON PARK
WHEREAS, BruCe V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
6 Clerk, has recommended to the Finance Committee of the City of
7 Vernon under the date of January 13, 19 81 that three ( 3 ) new
8 police vehicles be purchased from Maurice J. Sopp &5qn Chevrolet
9 in Huntington Park; and
10 WHEREAS, Frank Murillo, Purchasing Agent, has recommende
11 under the date of January 12, 1981, the purchase of three (3)
12 new police vehicles through the Los Angeles County Cooperative
13 Purchasing Program from Maurice J. Sopp & Son Chevrolet in
14 Huntington Park for the sum of Eight Thousand Four Hundred Forty-
15 Eight Dollars and Thirty Cents ($8.,448. 30) per vehicle for a
16 total price of Twenty--Fiv~ Th6usand Three Hundred Forty-Four
17 Dollars and Ninety Cents ($25,344.90); and
18 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
19 determ1ned that it is in the best interests of the City of Vet'non
20 that a purchase order be issued for the purchase of th;-ee(3)
21 police vehicles from Maurice J. Sopp & Son Chevrolet in Huntingto
22 Park through the Los Angeles County Cooperative Purchasing
23 Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City Of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained herein

1 above are true and correct.

3 hereby approves the issuance of a purchase order in accordance
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
4 with the recommendation:of Frank Murillo, Purchasing Agent, for
5 the purchase of three (31 new police vehicles from Maurice J.
6 Sopp & Son Chevrolet in Huntington Park.

SECTION 3; The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
8 certify' to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
9 therea,;f;'ter the same shall be in full force and effect.
10 ApPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of January, 1981.
