RESOLUTION NO. 4777
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 432 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT
DOWNEY ROAD AND LEONIS-DISTRICT BOULEVARD,
DOWNEY ROAD AND FRUITLAND AVENUE, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 432 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Vernon Contract No. 432 for traffic signal in-
stallation at Downey Road and Leonis-District Boulevard, Downey
Road and Fruitland Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Vernon
that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable Sta~e
law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Contract No. 432 is hereby approved by the
18 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
20 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
21 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 432.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
proposals or bids for traffic signal installation at Downey
Road and Leonis-District Boulevard, Downey Road and Fruitland
Avenue, in accordance with Contract No. 432 and in accordance
with this Resolution.
SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula

1 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
2 City Clerk is nereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
3 the same to be; posted, in three of the most public places in the
4 City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and
5 Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
6 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
1 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 'Santa Fe Avenue,
8 in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
10 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
11 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
12 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
13 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
14 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
15 of the City, at the City lIall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
16 California 90058, until the hour of 2 :00 p.m., on the 7th day of
17 April, 1981, and in accordance with Contract No. 432 approved
18 by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
20 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
21 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
