A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VER1\fON APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF PROGRAM
SUPPLEMENT AGREEMENT NO. 3 TO LOCAL AGENCY!
STATE MASTER AGREEMENT NO. 07-5139 FOR FEDERAL-
AID PROGRAM FOR INSTALLAT10N OF NO. 8A
CANTILEVERED FLASHING LIGHTS TO REPLACE
EXISTING CROSSBUCKS ON 44TH STREET AND LAJC R.R.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon on
A t 7 1979 authorized the execution.of a Local Agency-
ugus, ,
State Master Agreement No. 07-5139 for Federal-Aid Projects
which was entered into by and between the City of Vernon and the
State of California on August 14, 1979; and
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Vernon by the Department of Transportation of the
State of California a proposed Program of Local Agency Federal
Aid-Safety Improvements Projects.in the City of Vernon, Program
Supplement No. 3 to Master Agreement No. 07-5139 which covers
Federal-Aid Safety Funds in the City of Vernon for railroad
crossing protection on 44th Street; and
\1HEREAS, said Program can be adopted in accordance wi th
Paragraph 2 of Article II of ~he aforementioned Master Agreement;
and
WHEREAS, the total cost of said project is the sum of
Thirty Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($30,250), with the
Federal Highway Administration's share of the cost being the sum
of Twenty-Seven Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars
($27,225) and the City of Vernon's share of the cost being the
sum of Three Thousand Twenty-Five Dollars ($3,025); and

WHEREAS, Victor H. Vaits, Deputy Director of Community
Services, has recommended under date of March 30, 1981 that
said Program Supplement Agreement No. 3 be approved; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
5 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
6 to approve the execution of said Agreement.
7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
8 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
9 SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
10 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
11 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the Program Supplement Agreement No.
3 to Local AgencylState Master Agreement No. 07-5139 for Federal-
Aid Program to install No. 8A cantilevered flashing lights to
replace existing crossbucks on 44th Street at LAJC R. R. Grade
Crossing No. 25-1.41-C, a copy of which is attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein as though fully set forth at
length, is hereby approved and the Mayor of the City of Vernon
is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the
City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
City of Vernon a copy of said Agreement.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
