RESOLUTION NO. 4812
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPOINTING A CITY COUNCILMEMBER AND
ONE ALTERNATE TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
JOINT POWERS INSURANCE AUTHORITY REPRESENTING
THE CITY OF VERNON
7 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is a member of the
8 Southern California Joint Powers Insurance Authority; and
9 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon entered into an agreement
10 with several other cities to form the Southern California Joint
11 Powers Insurance Authority; and
12 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon entered into an agreement
13 with the Southern California Joint Powers Insurance Autho.rity
14 to provide self-insurance in respect to property damage and
15 public liability; and
16 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has received a communicatio
17 from the Southern California Joint Powers Insurance Authority
18 requesting the City Council of the City of Vernon to appoint a
19 City Councilmember and one alternate to serve as a member of the
20 Board of Directors of the Southern California Joint Powers
21 Insurance Authority representing the City of Vernon; and
22 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of. Vernon desires
23 to appoint Leonis C. Malburg , a City Councilman, to serve as
24 a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern California
25 Joint powers Insurance Authority representing the City of Vernon;
26 and
27 WHERgAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
28
to appoint Bob Fleischman
, a City employee, to serve as
1 an alternate member of the Board of Directors of the Southern
2 California Joint Powers Insurance Authority.
3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
4 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of
6 Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
7 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of
9 Vernon hereby appoints City Councilman Leonis C. Malburg
10 to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern
11 California Joint Powers Insurance Authority with the obligation
12 to attend the meetings of said Authority 1.andto irep0l:1t ;to t:n.e;'
13 Council and to keep the City Council informed ,.of all.l matters,
14 peIlidingbefore said; authority.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
16 hereby appoints Bob Fleischman
to serve as an alternate
17 member of the Board of Directors of the Southern California
18 Joint Powers Insurance Authority with the obligation to attend
19 the meetings of said a~thority when Councilman Malburg
20 is unable to attend said meetings.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
22 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
23 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
24 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of June, 1981.
