RESOLUTION NO. 4862
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO SAID CITY
RELATING TO THE. CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY,
APRIL 13, 1982
WHEREAS, a General f.1unicipal Election is to be held
in the City of Vernon, California, on April 13, 1982; and
WHEREAS, .in the course of conduct of said election and
in relation thereto it will .benecessaryto mail sampleba.l1ots
and polling place inserts to the registered voters of the City,
and it will facilitate such mailing 'if the Registrar of Voters
of the County.of Los Angeles will. prepare and furnish the City
the imprinting of the names and addresses of the registered.
voters of said City on pOlling place inserts furnished by the
City, and after bursting the forms will insert the polling
place insert and sample ballot into envelopes, all to be
furnished by the City, will place all envelopes in zip-cod.ed mail
bags, advise the City Clerk of the number of pieces to be mailed,
prepare PS Form 3602, "Statement of Mailing ~1atter With Permit
'Imprints", and advise the City Clerk when work is complete so
delivery can be arranged; and
WHEREAS, all necessary expense. in performing this
service shall be paid by the City of Vernon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY. COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Tb..at pursuant to the provisions of S2200:3
28 of the Elections Code of the State of California, this City
1 Council h~reby requests the Board of Supervisors of said CouIlty
2 to permit the Registrar of Voters to prepare and furnish to
3 said city for use in conducting' said election to beheld on
4 April 13, 1982, the imprinting of the names and addresses of
5 the registered vot~rs of said City on polling place inserts
6 furnished by the City and after bursting the forms to inse:t;'t
7 the polling place insert and sample ballot into envelopes ,al.l.
8 to be furnished by the City, will pl~ce all envelop~s in zip-
9 coded mail bags ,advise the City Clerk of the number of pieces
10 to be mailed, preparePS Form 3602, "Statement of Mailing.Matt~:t;'
11 ~1ithpermit Imprints", and advise the City Clerk when work. is
12 complete so d.elivery can b~ arranged.
13 SECTION 2: That said City shall reimburse said County
14 for services p~rformedwhen the work is completed and upon
15 presentation to the City of a properly approved bill.
16 SECTION 3: That the City Clerk is h~reby directed to
17 forward without delay to said Board of Supervisors and to said
18 Registrar of Voter...~, each a certified copy of this Resolution.
19 APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 15th day of December, 1981.
