RESOLUTION NO. 4863
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND G.IVING
NOTICE: OF TaE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON .TUESDAY,
APRIL 13, 1982, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN
OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY TlIE
PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALI-
FORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES
WHEREAS, under the prQvisions .of the laws relating..to
General Law Cities in the State Qf California, a.regularg'eneral
mun.ic.ipal election shall be held on April 13, 1982, for the
election .of three (3) members of the City Council ofsa.idcity
for the full term of fouJ: (4) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By THE CITY COUNC.IL OF
THE CJ:TYOF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements .of the
laws of the State of California relating to General Law cities
within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called
and ordeJ:ed, held in the cfty of Vernon, California on Tuesqay,
April 13, 1982, a regular municipal electic:m of the qualified
elect.ors of said City for the pUJ:pose of electing three (3)
members of the City Council of the City for the full teJ:m of
four (4) years.
SECTION 2: That the ballots to be used at s.aid electi.on
shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such <is
may be required by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
authorized, instructed a.nd directed to procure and fUJ:nish <iny
and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all
supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessaJ:Y in

1 order to properly and lawfully conduct said election.

SECTION 4: Pursuant to S1340 of the California
3 Elections Code, the election will be conducted entirely by
4 absent voter ballots. The City Hall is hereby designated as
5 the polling place pursuant to Sl014 of the Elections Code.
6 SECTION 5:: That the polling place for said election
7 shall be open at 7:30 a.m. of the day of said election and shall
8 remain open continuously from said time until 5: 00 p.m. of the
9 same day when said poll shall be closed, except as provided in
10 S14301 of the Elections Code of the State of California.

SECTION 6: That in all particulars not recited in
12 this Resolution, said election shall beheld and conducted as
13 provided by law for holding municipal elections in said City.

SECTION 7: That notice of the time and place of
15 holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is
16 hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further
17 or additional notice of said election, in time, form and
18 manner as required by law.

SECTION 8: That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a
minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 15th day of December, 1981.
