RESOLUTION NO. 4894
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND RATIFYING THE PURCHASE
OF TWO (2) JEEPS FROM THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE
FOR USE IN THE CIVILIAN TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT
DIVISION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
6 WHEREAS, the Vernon Police Department has reconunended
7 the purchase of two (2) jeeps for use in the Civilian Traffic
8 Enforcement Division of the Police Department; and
9 WHEREAS, Frank Murillo, the Purchasing Agent, has
10 reconunended that these vehicles be purchased from the U. S.
11 Pos tal Service; and
12 WHEREAS, the Finance Conunittee on February 8, 1982 made
13 a reconunendation to the City Council that authorization be given
14 and funds be granted to purchase two (2) jeeps (1970 and 1971
15 models) from the U. S. Postal Service for use in the Civilian
16 Traffic Enforcement Division of the Police Department at a cost
17 of no more than. Three Thousand Four Hundred Twelve Dollars and
18 No Cents ($3,412.00) each in accordance with the recommendation
19 of Bruce V. Malkenhorst ,Director of Finance, dated February 4,
20 1982; and
21 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
22 approved said reconunendation of the Finance Conunittee on
23 February 16, 1982; and
24 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
25 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
26 that a purchase order be issued for the purchase of two (2) jeeps
27 from the U. S. Postal Service for use in the Civilian Traffic
28 Enforcement Division of the Police Department.
1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
2 OF.THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
4 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
5 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
7 hereby approves and ratifies the issuance of a purchase order in
8 accordance with the recommendation of Frank Murillo, the
9 Purchasing Agent, for the purchase of two (2) jeeps (1970 and
10 1971 models) from the U. S. Postal Service for use in the
11 Civilian Traffic Enforcement Division of the Police Department
12 at a cost of no. more than Three Thousand Four Hundred Twelve
13 Dollars and No Cents ($3,412.00) each.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
