RESOLUTION NO. 4899
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2)
1982 CHRYSLER "K" VEHICLES FROM THOMAS GLENN
DODGE CO. FOR USE BY REGISTERED SANITARIANS
OF THE HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SECTION,
CITY OF VERNON, DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
SERVICES
WHEREAS, on August 18, 1981 the City Council of the
City of Vernon approved Resolution No. 4836 providing for the
purchase of two vehicles for use in the Health Department by
field personnel in the performance of their health inspection
duties contingent upon the State of California approving said
project and providing at least fifty percent (50%) of the funds
necessary to purchase said vehicles upder the provisions of

Assembly Bill 3245; and I
WHEREAS, on April 8, 1982 th~ City Council of the City
of Vernon approved Resolution No. 489~ which approved and
authorized the execution of a Grant Arard Contract by and between
the City of Vernon and the State of crlifornia Department of
Health Services providing for the purFha~e of said vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Frank Murillo, purChaslng Agent, has
recommended under the date of April 8, 1982, that said vehicles
be purchased from Thomas Glenn Dodge Co. in Long Beach for the
sum of Eight Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars and
Fifty-One Cents ($8,363.51) per vehicle for a total price of
Sixteen Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-Seven Dollars and Two Cents
($16,727.02), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
specifications indicated in Quotation No. 1181; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has

1 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
2 that a purchase order be issued for the purchase of two (2) 1982
3 Chrysler "K" vehicles from Thomas Glenn Dodge Co. in Long Beach.
4 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
5 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
7 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained herein
8 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
10 hereby approves the issuance of a purchase order in accordance
11 with the recommendation of Frank Murillo, Purchasing Agent, for
12 the purchase of two (2) 1982 Chrysler "K" vehicles from Thomas
13 Glenn Dodge Co. in Long Beach at a total cost of Sixteen Thousand
14 Seven Hundred Twenty-Seven Dollars and Two Cents ($16,727.02)
15 and all other bids are hereby rejected.

SECTION 3:. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
17 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
18 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
19 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of April, 1982.
