RESOLUTION NO. 4905
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND RATIFYING THE PURCHASE
OF AUTOMATIC GATE MATERIAL TO INSTALL AUTOMATIC
GATES FOR THE LOWER PARKING DECK FROM AUTOMATIC
PARI<I~G DEVICES
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Director of Finance,
8, 1982, recommended that authority be granted to the
8 Purchasing Agent to purchase the required gate and electrical
9 material necessary for the installation of automatic gates for
10 the lower parking deck; and
11
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on March 8, 1982 made
12 a recommendation to the City Council that the Purchasing Agent
13 be granted the authority to purchase the required gate and
14 electrical material needed for the approximate cost of Eight
15 Thousand Six Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($8,600.00) ; and
16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
17 approved said recommendation of the Finance Committee on
18 March 16, 1982; and
19
WHEREAS, Frank Murillo, the Purchasing Agent, has
20 recommended under the date of April 19, 1982, that said automatic
21 gate material to install automatic gates for the lower parking
22 deck be purchased from Automatic Parking Devices, Stanton,
23 California for the sum of Five Thousand Five Hundred Nine Dollars
24 and Twenty-Four Cents ($5,509.24), being the lowest responsible
25 bid meeting the specifications indicated in Quotation No. 1183;
26 and
27 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
28 Clerk has reported to the City Council under the date of April 27,
1 1982 recommendating that said automatic gate material for the
2 installation of automatic gates for the lower parking deck be
3 purchased from Automatic Parking Devices, Stanton, CA;.' and
4 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
5 determined that it be in the best interests of the City of Vernon
6 that a purchase order be issued for the purchase of said
7 automatic gate material for the installation of automatic gates
8 for the lower parking deck from Automatic Parking Devices,
9 Stanton, California.
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
11 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
12 'SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
13 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
14 hereinabove are true and correct.
15 SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
16 hereby approves and ratifies the issuance of a purchase order in
17 accordance with the recommendation of Frank Murillo, the
18 Purchasing Agent, for the purchase of automatic gate material
19 for the installation of automatic gates for the lower parking
20 deck from Automatic Parking Devices, Stanton, California for
21 the sum of Five Thousand Five Hundred Nine Dollars and Twenty-
22 Four Cents ($5,509.24) plus freight charges, and all other bids
23 are hereby rejected.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
2 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
3 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of May, 1982.
