RESOLUTION NO. 4911
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF GEORGE MILLER
CONSTRUCTION FOR SEWER MANHOLE IMPROVEMENT
ON EXCHANGE AND LOMA VISTA AVENUES, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 449 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CONTRACT
7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 449 of the City of Vernon was
8 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon pursuant to
9 Resolution No. 4906, and sealed bids were opened on May 18, 1982;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nelson,
12 Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
13 Council under the date of May 20, 1982, recommending that the
14 contract for sewer manhole improvement on Exchange and Lorna
15 Vista Avenues be executed with George Miller Construction on
16 the basis of its bid in the sum of Twenty-One Thousand Two
17 Hundred Thirty Dollars and No Cents ($21,230.00), being the
18 lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEO BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
20 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
22 hereby award Contract No. 449, in accordance with the recommenda-
23 tion of Arthur E. Nelson, Director of Community Services, and
24 authorizes the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
25 City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
27 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
28 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
1 the receipt of an executed contract from George Miller
2 Construction accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in fuil force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of June, 1982.
