RESOLUTION NO. 4941
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SEWER MANHOLE
IMPROVEMENT ON EXCHANGE AND LOMA VISTA AVENUES,
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 449 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON
6 WHEREAS, GEORGE MILLER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY was awarded
7 the contract for Sewer Manhole Improvement on Exchange and Loma
8 Vista Avenues pursuant to Contract No. 449 of the City of Vernon;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, Arthur E. Nelson, Director of Community Service~
11 has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon on
12 September 16, 1982, indicating that said work has been completed
13 and recommending that the work be accepted and payment be made
14 to the Contractor in accordance with the Agreement.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
16 THE CITY OF VERNON:

SECTION 1: That the work of Sewer Manhole Improvement
18 on Exchange and Loma Vista Avenues, pursuant to Contract No.
19 449, is hereby approved by the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the total contract amount is One Hundred
21 Eighty Six Thousand Nine Dollars and Thirty-Four Cents
22 ($186,009.34). That there is now due to the Contractor a final
23 partial payment totaling Twenty-Three Thousand Twenty-Three
24 Dollars and Seventy-One Cents ($23,023.71), which should be
25 paid at this time and the remaining ten percent (10%) of the
26 total Contract amount or the sum of Eighteen Thousand Six
27 Hundred Dollars and Ninety-Three Cents ($18,600.93) is payable
28 thirty-five (35) days after the adoption of this Resolution

1 and the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby directs
2 payment of said sums as set forth to GEORGE MILLER CONSTRUCTION
3 COMPANY and instructs the City Clerk to file a Notice of
4 Completion with the County Recorder.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
6 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
7 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
8 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of September, 1982.
