RESOLUTION NO. 4974
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF GOLDEN STATE EQUIPMENT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ASPLUNCH WHISPER CHIPPER
AND THE BID OF EUCLID STEEL FABRICATING COMPANYI
ATLAS TRUCK BODIES FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CHIPPER
SHELL FOR THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH BID 1111-93 AND 1111-94, RESPECTIVELY,
AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF ANY DOCUMENTS IN
RELATION THERETO
WHEREAS, the purchase of an Asp1unch Whisper Chipper
and construction of a Chipper Shell for use in the Community
Services Department was approved by the City Council of the
City of Vernon pursuant to Resolution No. 4959 and sealed bids
were opened on January 18, 1983; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to the Purchasing Agent
and in reliance upon his recommendation Bruce V. Ma1kenhorst,
City AdministratorlCity Clerk, has reported to the City Council
under the date of February 10, 1983, recommending that the
Asp1unch Whisper Chipper be purchased from Golden State Equipment
on the basis of its bid in the sum of Twelve Thousand Six Hundred
Eleven Dollars and Seventy-Three Cents ($12,611. 73), including
tax, being the lowest responsible bid meeting the purchase
specification requirements and that the Chipper Shell be purchase
from Euclid Steel Fabricating CompanylAt1as Truck Bodies on the
basis of its bid in the sum of Two Thousand Three Hundred Sixteen
Dollars and Thirty-Eight Cents ($2,316.38), including tax, being
the lowest responsible bid meeting the purchase specification
requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
2 hereby purchase said Asplunch Whisper Chipper and Chipper Shell,
3 Bid #11-93 and #11-94, respectively, in accordance with the
4 recommendation of Bruce V. Ma1kenhorst, City AdministratorlCity
5 Clerk, and authorizes the Mayor to execute any documents in
6 re1ation.thereto.

SECTION 2: All other bids are hereby rejected.
SEC]ION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
9 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
10 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
11 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of February, 1983.
