RESOLUTION NO. 4976
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 456 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT
BOYLE AVENUE AND LEONIS BOULEVARD; ALCOA AVENUE
AND FRUITLAND AVENUE; DOWNEY ROAD AND VERNON
AVENUE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 456
OF THE 'CITY OF. VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
City of Vernon Contract No. 456 for Traffic Sigtlal
Installation at Boyle Avenue. and Leonis Boulevard;
Downey Road and Vernon Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
SECTION If ContJ;act No. 456 is hereby approved by the
City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of ye.rnon is
hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 456.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City
hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
proposals or bids for Traffic Signal Installation at
and Leonis Boulevard; Alcoa Avenue and Fruitland Avenue; Downey
in accordance with Contract No. 456 and
in accordance with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-

2 tion printed, published, or circulated in the City of Vernon. the
3 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
4 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the
5 City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner,of 38th Street and
Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
Pacific Boulevard"and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
City Hall of the City of Vernon located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
9 in said City.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
directed to i>ost said notice forthwith and the first
12 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
13 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract.
14 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
15 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
