RESOLUTION NO. 4982
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF PHOENIX ELECTRICAL
SERVICE COMPANY, INC. FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL
INSTALLATION AT BOYLE AVENUE AND LEONIS BOULEVARD;
ALCOA AVENUE AND FRUITLAND AVENUE; DOWNEY ROAD
AND VERNON AVENUE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 456 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING
THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, s~id bids were referred to Victor H. Vaits,

Deputy Director of ~ommunity Services, who has reported to the

City Council under ~he date of March 16, 1983, recommending that
the contract for Tr1ffic Signal Installation at Boyle Avenue and
Leonis Boulevard; Alcoa Avenue and Fruitland Avenue; Downey Road
I
I
I
and Vernon Avenue be executed with Phoenix Electrical Service
Company, Inc. on th~ basis of its bid in the sum of Twenty-Eight
Thousand Dollars ($?8,000.00), being the lowest responsible
bid meeting the contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

THE CITY OF VERNON ~S FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:1 The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby award contra~t No. 456 in accordance with therecommendatio
,
of .Victor H. Vaits,!Deputy Director of Community Services, and
authorizes the Mayor to execute said contract on behal of the
City.
SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
1 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
2 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
3 the receipt of an executed contract from Phoenix Electrical
4 Service Company, Inc. accompanied by all required bonds and
5 certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
7 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
8 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
9 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of March, 1983.
